Warmest DC Halloween in 50 years possible, with temperatures expected to reach near 80 degrees

WASHINGTONFOX 5’s Tucker Barnes says: Prepare for the Halloween heat!

After freezing temperatures on Monday morning, which prompted frost and freeze advisories in the Washington, D.C., region, major warming is expected for trick-or-treating day.

Barnes says temperatures could reach 80 degrees on Thursday, which could potentially set a record for the warmest Halloween since 1974.

Expect daytime highs around 60 degrees on Monday, highs around 70 degrees on Tuesday and highs around 70 degrees on Wednesday.

After Thursday’s potential for the warmest Halloween in 50 years, temperatures will drop into the lows on Friday, leading to a mostly sunny and dry weekend.
