Warriors injuries: Steph Curry leaves game after rolling ankle

The Golden State Warriors entered the 2024-2025 NBA season in near-perfect health. But unfortunately it doesn’t seem to have lasted long. During Sunday night’s home game against the LA Clippers, the Dubs suffered an apparent injury to the one player they can’t afford to lose: Steph Curry.

Curry appeared to roll his ankle midway through the third quarter of the game and went to the bench in noticeable pain before his usual substitution pattern. He was seen on the couch talking to trainer Rick Celebrini and using a resistance band on his ankle.

It was unclear whether Curry would return to the game, but eight minutes into the fourth quarter he checked back in after a Warriors timeout. And just a few seconds later, he appeared to aggravate the injury again, rolling his ankle while setting a screen on the very first possession out of the timeout.

Curry immediately limped off the court, favoring his left leg. This time he went straight to the dressing room, accompanied by Celebrini.

We will keep you informed of any updates that become available. And in the meantime, we’re all holding our breath.

Update: Curry has officially been ruled out due to a sprained left ankle.

Second update: Steve Kerr has said that Curry’s sprain is “mild or moderate” and that the star will undergo an MRI on Sunday evening. Hopefully we’ll have more information on Curry’s injury and MRI results Monday morning.
