Washington Commanders Coach Dan Quinn on what was missing in the loss to the Eagles

In the aftermath of a challenging loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn gave his assessment of his team’s struggles.

Known for his straightforward approach, Quinn’s post-match reflection highlighted both challenges and opportunities for the commanders to learn from.

Speaking about the execution of the attack in Washington on Thursday evening, Quinn emphasized the importance of self-assessment and collective improvement, aimed at identifying missed opportunities and areas for growth.

“When you talk about the whole thing you want to say, ‘Where can we do better?’ and ‘How can we do it better?’ And so more often than not it’s a whole group. ‘Can we get to this part? Can we get to this part?’ And last week we talked about missed opportunities,” Quinn said. “When we go back to the band tonight, we’ll have a better feel for it. But most of all, the ability to get our explosive plays going. That’s part of who we are and how we do things. So it was good to have (Commanders RB) Brian (Robinson Jr.) back tonight. But the fact that we did not get the execution we expected left a mark.”

This reflection is not just limited to the violation. Quinn’s defensive unit faced struggles, especially against Philadelphia’s rushing attack. As the Commanders eye a deep playoff run, Quinn’s emphasis on rewatching the tape and refining the execution reflects his leadership and adaptability.

The loss to the Eagles was a tough pill to swallow, but Quinn’s leadership remains steadfast. His focus on breaking down the film and identifying solutions shows his dedication to making improvements in all facets of the game.

As the Commanders prepare to face the Dallas Cowboys, they must do their best and take advantage of every opportunity to get back in the win column and remain competitive in a tight divisional race.
