Taylor Swift also lashed out at JD Vance while supporting Kamala Harris

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s running mate JD Vance today slammed American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift after she endorsed Kamala Harris. Swift expressed her support for the Democratic nominee in an Instagram post on Tuesday, calling her a “steadfast, gifted leader.”

She concluded her post — which has received nearly 10 million likes so far — by calling herself a “childless cat lady,” a dig at one JD Vance, who in a 2021 interview called some Democrats “a bunch of childless cat ladies.” He later said it was just a sarcastic remark.

“We admire Taylor Swift’s music, but I don’t think most Americans, whether they like her music or are fans of her or not, are going to be influenced by a billionaire who I think is fundamentally disconnected from the interests and issues of most Americans,” Vance told Fox News.

“If grocery prices drop 20 percent, that affects most Americans. It doesn’t affect Taylor Swift. If housing prices become unaffordable, it doesn’t affect Taylor Swift or any other billionaire. It affects the American middle class across our country,” he added.

Taylor Swift Supports Kamala Harris

Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris minutes after the televised presidential debate between the Democrat and Donald Trump.

“I’m voting for Kamala Harris because she fights for rights and causes that I believe need a fighter to support them,” the 34-year-old singer said in a lengthy Instagram post.

“I believe we can achieve much more in this country if we are guided by calm and not chaos,” she added.

Swift, one of the world’s most popular stars, encouraged her followers to “do their research.”

“I did my research and made my choice,” she said, telling her fans: “Your research is entirely yours to do, and the choice is yours to make.”

“I will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election,” the singer wrote on Instagram.

However, Donald Trump lashed out at Taylor Swift, saying he is “not a fan of hers.”

“I was not a fan of Taylor Swift… she’s a very liberal person. She always seems to support a Democrat, and she’s probably going to pay a price for that in the marketplace,” he told Fox News.
