Weather in Austin: Potential record-breaking heat this weekend

It may be autumn, but you can’t tell by the weather. It is expected to get even warmer this weekend.

Temperatures will start in the 60s in the morning, move into the 80s around noon, and we’ll end the day in the low to mid 90s.

It will be another day with low humidity, which helps a bit against the heat.

We expect some light winds.

It’s an ozone action day, which means pollution levels will be unhealthy for some people with breathing problems such as asthma.

7 day forecast

It will be a warm second weekend of ACL.

High temperatures are expected to reach 96 degrees on Saturday and 98 degrees on Sunday!

If we reach 98 on Sunday, we will set a record. We will also be near record highs on Monday.

However, changes are in store.

The heat dome will move west early next week and a low will occur late Tuesday.

We’ll finally start to feel like October, with lows in the 50s and 60s and highs in the mid-80s.

The only thing you won’t see in our weather forecasts is rain. We have had no measurable rain for 35 days in a row, and you can expect this streak to continue.

The Texas A&M Forest Service says there is a moderate risk of fire danger in Central Texas.

Red River Rivalry Prediction

If any Longhorn fans make the trip to Dallas for Texas-OU weekend, you won’t escape the heat.

The temperature in the Cotton Bowl is expected to be around 33 degrees Celsius at kickoff and will remain in the 90s for the entire game.
