DETROIT (FOX 2) – Get ready for the hottest day of the work week.

The record to be tied or broken on Monday is 81. With highs near 79 today we will easily exceed the seasonal value of 60. It will be mostly sunny as high pressure continues to dominate. The low will be around 52 tonight.

Another mild day on Tuesday with highs around 76 before a cold front comes through on Wednesday. This brings a change in winds, cooler temperatures and a chance of isolated showers.

It will be much cooler towards the end of the week, with temperatures dropping back into the 50s.
