Weekend starts nice, rain for Labor Day

Friday evening: Temperatures will remain in the 70s to 80s after sunset with little to no chance of rain. Winds will be from the east and northeast at 5 to 10 mph with partly cloudy skies.

Friday evening is a perfect evening to enjoy the outdoors.

RIP CURRENT RISK:

There remains a moderate risk of rip currents for the weekend. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, it is best to stay out of the ocean, as you can easily be injured by a rip current.

TRAVEL FORECAST:

A cold front is moving from the Southwest to the Midwest, causing delays and cancellations for airline passengers. Check with your local airport provider to see if you will experience a delay.

IN SEARCH OF THE TROPICS:

In the tropics there are two disturbances:

From 30-08-24 One disruption has a 0 percent chance of developing in the next 2 days and a 20 percent chance of developing in the next 7 days.

A second disturbance Closer to the Lesser Antilles, there is a 40 percent chance of it developing in the next seven days, but 0 percent in the next two days.

What to expect in the tropics: Long-range models show a potential cyclone moving toward the eastern Gulf and then north toward the Florida Panhandle. It is too early to confirm this path, however, as the model path is at least 10 days from today.

I continue to follow the development of the tropics.
