What time does season 33 of ‘Dancing With The Stars’ premiere on ABC and Disney+?

A new season of Dancing with the stars is just around the corner. Read on to find out what time DWTS premieres tonight, along with more details about the celebrity contestants, professional dancers, judges, hosts and more.

Dancing with the stars is ABC’s long-running dance competition show that premiered in June 2005. Marvel actress Xochitl Gomez and her dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy won the Len Goodman Mirrorball trophy in 2023. This season, a new group of celebrities will step into the ballroom and show off their dance skills to America.

On August 22, U.S. Olympic medalist Stephen Nedoroscik, also known as “Pommel Horse Guy” at the 2024 Paris Olympics, was revealed as the first celebrity contestant for season 33. A few weeks later, the full celebrity and professional cast was announced on Good Morning America. For their first dance on the show, some of the stars will perform dances such as the cha cha, salsa, foxtrot, tango and jive, according to GMA.

DWTS has undergone many changes in recent years, including the addition of two new hosts and the loss of beloved judge Len Goodman, who passed away after retiring in April 2023. DWTS Executive producer Conrad Green told Entertainment Weekly that the show had found a “really good rhythm” last season.

“Alfonso (Ribeiro) and Julianne (Hough) are incredible. Our jury was really tight, and by not replacing Len, it gives us a little bit more room to play and bring other people into it,” the EP explained. “And the way that ABC, Disney+ and Hulu are all airing the show, it feels like we’re really connected to all the viewers. We’re fully plugged into the 21st century.”

Green also hinted at plans to shake things up in the ballroom this season, promising to throw “new curveballs” at the celebrities. He continued, “It’s more evolution than revolution… We have some new things planned along the way, but at its core, we want to make it the show that so many people have watched across generations.”
