    When Are the Week 2 Coaches Poll, AP Top 25 Rankings Out? What You Need to Know

    College football is back in session, which means the debate over the top 25 rankings is in full swing.

    With most of the Week 1 games now behind us (save for a top matchup on Sunday between No. 12 LSU and No. 23 USC and an ACC game on Monday between No. 10 Florida State and Boston College), the rankings are being updated ahead of Week 2 of the season.

    There will also likely be a shift in the top 25.

    It took just one game into the 2024 college football season to produce the first upset, when Georgia Tech defeated No. 10 Florida State 24-21 in a Week 0 game in Dublin. The rest of the top 25 teams in action in Weeks 0 and 1 produced blowouts, though No. 7 Notre Dame outlasted No. 20 Texas A&M 23-13, while No. 1 Georgia demolishes No. 14 Clemson 34-3.

    There were a couple of close calls elsewhere in the top 25: No. 3 Oregon routed FCS opponent Idaho 24-14 in a game that saw the Vandals cut its lead to 17-14 in the final quarter. Elsewhere, Sherrone Moore-led Michigan held off Fresno State 30-10 in a game that was far more exciting than the score indicated.

    It remains to be seen what impact these games and others will have on the final Top 25 polls.

    Here are the releases from both the US LBM Coaches Poll and the AP Top 25 ahead of Week 2 of the American football season:

    When will the College Football Top 25 Polls for Week 2 be released?

    Both major college football polls — the Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 — will be released Tuesday, following the Labor Day game between the Seminoles and Eagles on Monday night.

    Normally both the Coaches and AP polls are released every Sunday. However, the release is delayed after Week 1 due to games being played on Sunday and Monday nights.
