    When is summer time? Turn back the clock in November

    Fancy an extra hour of sleep and wondering when we’ll turn the clock back? Well, fall is here and with it comes the end of daylight saving time for 2024.

    Here’s everything you need to know about daylight saving time 2024.

    When does time change?

    Our clocks will go back one hour on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at 2:00 AM.

    When is summer time?

    Daylight saving time begins on the second Sunday in March, when we turn the clock forward one hour.

    States that participate in daylight saving time turn back their clocks each year when it officially ends on the first Sunday in November.

    Do all states participate in daylight saving time?

    Although Iowa participates, Hawaii and parts of Arizona do not participate in daylight saving time.

    The territories of American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands are also not participating.

    Will we gain or lose an hour when daylight saving time ends in November?

    When daylight saving time ends, we turn the clock back one hour, which means we gain an hour of sleep. We lose an hour when daylight saving time starts in the spring and we move our clocks forward.

    To help remember which is which, some say, “When it comes to daylight saving time, we jump forward and then fall back.”

    When does daylight saving time start and end in 2025?

    Daylight saving time starts on Sunday, March 9 and ends on November 2, 2025.
