Television’s biggest police drama returns to where it all started with a new spin-off.NCIS: Origins.” The all-new show takes fans back to the ’90s and Leroy Jethro Gibbs’ early days on the investigation team.

Austin Stowell will play the young Gibbs, but Mark Harmon, who originated the role, will remain as executive producer. The two-hour premiere follows as the rookie special agent steps into his own as he mourns the loss of his wife and daughter. Harmon narrates each episode of the series, providing the first insight into the stoic character’s mentality and foreshadowing what’s to come.

New episodes of the spinoff will premiere on CBS and Paramount+.

When does ‘NCIS Origins’ premiere?

The two-episode premiere airs Monday, October 14 at 9:00 PM ET/PT on CBS Television Network and streams on Paramount+ following the season 22 premiere of parent show “NCIS.” New episodes drop every Monday at 9PM ET/PT.

Where can I watch “NCIS Origins”?

“NCIS Origins” airs Monday nights on CBS and Paramount+. The episodes will be available live and on-demand for Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs.

Are the episodes released weekly or all at once?

The first two episodes will be released together. New episodes premiere Mondays at 9 PM ET on CBS and will be available to stream on Paramount+ the next day. The final episode is on January 6, 2025.

What is ‘NCIS Origins’ about?

The series follows Leroy Jethro Gibbs, played by Austin Stowell, in 1991, years before the start of the successful procedural hit ‘NCIS’. The new franchise and is narrated by Mark Harmon. In “NCIS: Origins,” Gibbs begins his career at the fledgling Naval Investigative Service office at Camp Pendleton, where he cements his place on a grim team led by NCIS legend Mike Franks, played by Kyle Schmid.

The series also stars Mariel Molino as Special Agent Lala Dominguez, Tyla Abercrumbie as Field Operation Support Officer Mary Jo Sullivan and Diany Rodriguez as Special Agent Vera Strickland.
