When will Spotify Wrapped 2024 be released?

The platform has yet to announce when it plans to release Spotify Wrapped 2024. However, USA TODAY reports that Spotify has been pushing up the release date in recent years and could drop the 2024 Wrapped in November or early December.

  • Spotify Wrapped 2023 was released on November 29.
  • In 2022, Spotify Wrapped was released on November 30.

Does Spotify Wrapped contain listening data from January to December?

Despite rumors that Spotify Wrapped only collects data from January 1 to October 31, the platform recently confirmed that the round-up does in fact track listening data after Halloween.

After social media users joked that their time manipulating their listening data would end on October 31, the audio streamer on doesn’t work stop counting on October 31st.”

The platform hasn’t confirmed when exactly it will stop tracking listener data for Wrapped this year, but we know it will be at least after October 31st.

What is Spotify Wrapped?

The idea behind Spotify Wrapped came about in 2015, when the mega-popular music platform released the Year in Music feature, which allowed users to see which artists they had listened to the most over the past 365 days. The Year in Music campaign shared much of the same data as Spotify Wrapped, including listeners’ most played songs and the number of hours of music they listened to in total.

However, the feature received a major facelift the following year, complete with the new Spotify Wrapped name. The marketing campaign seems to be getting more and more viral every year, as Spotify steps up its game in graphic design and data personalization.

In 2018, Spotify recorded data on the astrological signs of the artists a user listened to most during the year. In 2019, Spotify Wrapped adopted an Instagram Story format, allowing users to easily share (or showcase) their carefully curated listening history on their social media stories. In 2020, the platform included podcast listening data.

In last year’s Spotify Wrapped, listeners were assigned a ‘Sound Town’, linking users to a city that matched their favorite genres and artists.

Only time will tell what new, quirky data will appear as part of users’ Spotify Wrapped portfolios for 2024.

Does Apple Music have an end of year feature?

In 2022, Apple Music announced its version of Spotify’s year-end campaign, called Apple Music Replay. Apple’s feature contains much of the same listening data as Spotify’s, including a user’s top songs, top albums, top artists and top genres throughout the year.

Apple Music Replay functions slightly differently than Spotify Wrapped. Starting this year, it started releasing monthly Replay experiences, which highlight a user’s listening habits at the end of each month.

Apple Music users can access their Replay by finding the Listen Now tab in the app, scrolling to the Replay section, tapping the Replay ’24 playlist, and then selecting the plus button at the top right. After that, Apple Music users can check out their Replay ’24 in the Playlists section of their library all year long.

Like Spotify, Apple Music users also receive a large Replay ’24 digest, designed for sharing on social media. In 2023, it was released on November 28.
