Wicked, the film adaptation of the Broadway musical, premieres this week. Are you ready for one of the most anticipated movies of the year?

The stores are filled with marketing from the film, from themed drinks at Starbucks to Mattel dolls, and social media is infused with content from the film, including interviews with the main stars.

Even though it is a musical, the only singing allowed is that of the characters in the film. Unfortunately, singing is not allowed for moviegoers watching the film at AMC Theaters.

The film tells the story of Elphaba, who will also become the Wicked Witch of the West, a clumsy student at Shiz University. She befriends Glinda, who will later become The Good Witch, deals with the corrupt wizard and finds trust.

According to AMC Theaters, the film is two hours and forty minutes long.

Is there a second part of the ‘Wicked’ movie?

Yes. According to NBC, Universal has divided “Wicked” into two parts, with the second film scheduled for November 21, 2025.
