    Boise State football running back Ashton Jeanty is on a mission to break both a long-standing record and an ongoing trend.

    Jeanty is on pace to break the NCAA single-season record set by Barry Sanders, set at Oklahoma State in 1988. He also wants to become the first Heisman Trophy winner at running back since Alabama’s Derrick Henry in 2015.

    During the 2024 college football season, Jeanty has rushed for over 100 yards 10 times, 150 rushing yards six times and over 200 yards four times. As a result, Jeanty is clearly in the running for the highest honor for a college football player. According to BetMGM, he started the season off the board due to Heisman talks.

    Here’s a look at where Jeanty sits in the Heisman Trophy race heading into a Week 13 matchup against Wyoming on Saturday at 7 p.m.:
