SAN ANTONIO – As Thanksgiving approaches, some organizations are stepping up to help families this holiday season.

If you plan to go, keep in mind that the number of turkeys is limited and it is first come, first served.

Here’s a list of locations where families can get a free turkey just in time for Thanksgiving:

  • Gospel vision: The ministry will host the 21st annual Thanksgiving Giveaway on November 23 from 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Comanche Park, located at 2600 Rigsby Avenue. 1,000 turkeys will be given away, as well as free haircuts and school supplies. Each family is eligible for one turkey.
  • Malouff International Group: The first Gobble and Give Drive is a drive-thru event beginning at 10 a.m. on November 23 at Prestige Motor Sports, located at 9711 Plymouth Road. The campaign will support dozens of families by giving away 200 free turkeys and pies.
  • New Life Christian Center: The center will host the free turkey giveaway on Nov. 23 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 6610 West US Highway 90. Visitors must be present to receive the turkey and may receive one turkey per family.
  • Samuel Clemens High School: The San Antonio Food Bank will be hosting a food distribution event (not Thanksgiving meal distribution) on November 23 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at 1001 Elbel Road in Schertz. Visitors can register for the event by clicking here.
  • Wyatt Law Firm: The drive-thru turkey giveaway will be on November 23 from 10am to 1pm at 21 Lynn Batts Lane, Suite 10. The business will have 500 turkeys to give away while supplies last.
