For UFC’s highly anticipated return to Madison Square Garden, there’s no better fight fans could have asked for than Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic. The GOAT of UFC and New York native Jon Jones has fought just twice in the past five years, winning a light heavyweight title fight against Dominick Reyes in 2020 and coming out of a long absence to seize the heavyweight title from Ciryl Gane at UFC 285 in 2023 with a dramatic guillotine choke finish in the first round.

This time, Jones (27-1-1) defends that title against legendary former two-time champion Stipe Miocic (20-4). Miocic is widely regarded as the greatest UFC heavyweight of all time, with four title defenses. With both fighters hinting that this could be their last fight, it is an absolute must-watch for UFC fans around the world.

Jones’ time out of the ring has been eventful, appearing in an Albuquerque court earlier this year to fight charges after he was accused of becoming hostile during a drug test at his New Mexico home. Jones pleaded not guilty and completed the required four hours of anger management over the incident.

In the co-main event, Michael Chandler (23-8) takes on former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira (34-10) in a thrilling five-round rematch. In their first meeting at UFC 262, Oliveira claimed victory via TKO, securing the vacant championship. This time Chandler is back with a vengeance, aiming to even the score and reclaim his place among the lightweight elite. Chandler waited over a year to fight Conor McGregor, but the fight was postponed several times and Dana White has now said it is no longer the scheduled match for McGregor’s return.
