Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 premiered on Sunday on Paramount Network and fans were surprised to see Billy Klapper in the first episode. Klapper appeared as himself in a scene with Cole Hauser’s Rip Wheeler in the series. He filmed the scene before his death in September 2024. He is one of the renowned trail makers in the ranching and cowboy industries.

While Klapper’s appearance was a heartwarming moment in this episode, the episode itself was something that took fans some time to process. While they expected Kevin Costner’s John Dutton to be written out of the show in this episode, they didn’t expect their beloved Dutton patriarch to disappear off-screen, apparently murdered by mercenaries.
