Warning: Cobra Kai season 6 parts 1 and 2 spoilers ahead!

After debuting on YouTube in 2018, the drama made its way to Netflix in 2020 and has since gained a larger fan base. In 2023, creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg announced that season 6 of Cobra Kai would be the last of the show.

Now the final season is coming to an end after being split into three parts Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 2, will premiere on November 15 and Part 3 will be released on February 13, 2025.

In their letter to fans on Instagram, Heald, Hurwitz and Schlossberg said it was their “humble honor” to introduce Karate kid alums Ralph Macchio, who plays Daniel LaRusso, and William Zabka, who plays Johnny Lawrence, for a new generation.

“It also allowed us to play sensei, expand on the original storylines and spawn a new generation of underdogs,” they wrote. “We have never taken this opportunity for granted.”

Why is Cobra Kai ending with season 6?

According to their fan letter, Heald, Hurwitz and Schlossberg wanted Cobra Kai to ‘end on our terms’. They shared that their “goal on day one” was to be able to tell each character’s story from beginning to end as they imagined it.

“We always knew to some extent how the show was going to end. For the bigger characters, we knew how it was going to end,” Heald said. Entertainment tonight in July 2024. “We could never have predicted how many characters we would acquire along the way who also earn their own bombastic endings.”

To properly tie up all the loose ends, the creators convinced Netflix to do a 15-episode final season.

“We wanted to get it in for a landing, but it took us more than one season and probably less than two seasons to do that. We ended up with a nice lap number of 15,” Heald explained to The Hollywood Reporter that same month.

When will Cobra Kai will season 6 part 3 be released?

Cobra Kai season 6 part 3 will be released on February 13, 2025.

Part 3 will likely pick up where Part 2 left off – with the death of Cobra Kai fighter Kwon (Brandon H. Lee) after falling on a knife during an all-out brawl at the Sekai Taikai tournament.

In an interview with The Hollywood ReporterHurwitz revealed that the final five episodes of season 6 will explore “everyone’s reaction to what happened.”

Kwon’s unexpected death could also lead to the event being canceled or fighting resuming.

“We deliberately ended this middle block with a lot of questions to be answered in the last block, and one of them is for sure: what will happen to this tournament and people’s opinions on karate in general?” the co-creator added.

As for what viewers can expect from Season 6, Part 3, Hurwitz teased that the characters’ fates would be revealed. “We look forward to resolving stories – and not every resolution is a happy ending, but it’s still a resolution,” he explained.

What did the cast say about it? Cobra Kai end?

During a performance op The view in July 2024, actor Macchio agreed with the makers’ decision to quit Cobra Kai.

“I feel like it’s time to land the plane. If you wait too long, it’s not always the best move,’ The karate kid said star. “For me it’s not goodbye, it’s until next time. The fans will never make it go away.”

As we talk to PEOPLE ahead of breaking news Cobra Kai episodes, Peyton List, who plays Tory Nichols, was seemingly content to put her character – and the intense fight sequences – behind her.

“I didn’t feel ready for that role of Tory, even on the last day of shooting,” the actress admitted. “She has such a presence and she’s always ready to fight someone. She’s so different from me, but there are parts of myself that I’ve found through playing her.

Meanwhile, Jacob Bertrand, who plays Eli Moskowitz, told GamesRadar+ that the series finale could provoke different reactions.

“You can’t make everyone happy, but I was happy with the ending and so was (the cast and crew),” he said in September 2024. “I think everyone will be excited about where all the characters end up.”

Will there be one Cobra Kai spinoff?

The makers of Cobra Kai are already thinking about the future for the Miyagi-verse. Schlossberg said The Hollywood Reporter in July 2024 that the trio is “definitely” considering spinoffs.

“Cobra Kai itself is in a way a spin-off from The karate kid. … We feel like we could do that with any of the characters on the show,” he said. “We think about the fun of following them into their future and on top of that, we think about the past.”

The co-creator went on to tease a potential prequel to Mr. Miyagi.

“We spoke with Robert Mark Kamen, the writer of the original Karate kid. We discussed the whole Miyagi backstory with him. Now that we’re done (with Cobra Kai), we can actually start dealing with this,” Schlossberg added.
