MINNEAPOLIS— Gusty winds and rain are expected in the Twin Cities on Wednesday.

Gusty southeasterly winds up to 50 km/h will be associated with an incoming disturbance that will bring rain to the metro after the afternoon. Precipitation will be heaviest in western Minnesota, with up to a half inch possible. The Twin Cities will likely see a tenth of an inch.

The showers disappear during the night, but clouds remain. Expect highs in the mid 40s.

High pressure will bring calm and dry conditions to end the week. Clouds will remain on Thursday and temperatures will rise through Friday.

The windy and warm conditions will continue through the weekend and into next week, with an active weather pattern taking shape as energy from the western valley stirs things up. More precipitation is possible next week.
