A New York City woman died in a horrific death. On Saturday, an unidentified octogenarian jumped to her death from her Upper East Side apartment, multiple media outlets reported.

When her body fell from the 28th floor of the Park Regis Apartments, it struck the side of the building and became entangled in railings and balconies, the outlet said. As a result, the woman was beheaded, media reported.

“I stopped just as she was laying there, she had no head,” a witness told police New York Post. “The head and arm were cleanly severed on the other side, they ended up on the terrace.”

A second witness told the outlet that a fence was left bent after the woman’s body hit it. The woman’s clothes were stuck to the fence, the second witness said.

Local point of sale Upper East Side reported that there was a wedding going on at a church across the street. Guests attending the wedding witnessed the incident, the outlet reported.

That’s what the NYPD said Daily mail that the investigation into the woman’s apparent suicide is still ongoing. Her identity is being withheld pending investigation, police told the newspaper.
