Woman charged with having sex with a student while teaching at St. Xavier: Prosecutor’s Office

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A former St. Xavier High School employee has been charged with having a sexual relationship with a teenage student, according to the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office.

Emily Nutley, 42, is charged with six counts of sexual assault, the District Attorney’s Office announced Monday.

Nutley was a teacher/instructor who oversaw a program to help students struggling with academics at St. Xavier, the prosecutor’s office explained.

The teenage victim was assigned to the program and began working with Nutley on academic matters in the fall 2023 semester, the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Nutley then began having additional contact with the student outside of school hours, the prosecutor’s office said.

The 42-year-old St. Xavier school employee sent the teen nude photos, text messages and sexually explicit messages, the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office explained.

Multiple encounters and a sexual relationship between Nutley and the teen began in mid-November 2023, according to Monday’s announcement from the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office.

The sexual encounters took place at least once on the campus of St. Xavier High School, including in Nutley’s office, and off school property, the prosecutor’s office explained.

The student tried to stop the encounters, but Nutley continued to text the teen, the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office said.

An internal investigation by St. Xavier High School led them to contact Springfield Township police, who launched their own investigation into the allegations.

Nutley was fired by St. Xavier, the school’s communications coordinator Britan Shriner told FOX19 NOW in October.

On Monday, St. Xavier High School released a statement saying they believe the allegations against Nutley are an isolated incident:
