Officers arrived at the scene and found the body of a 62-year-old man in a bag with a surfboard in the driveway of the building, police said.

A crime scene was established and local officers – assisted by the State Crime Command’s homicide squad – established Strike Force Nome to investigate the death.

After extensive investigations, police arrested a 35-year-old woman on Loftus Street, Nambucca Heads at approximately 2.10pm on Friday.

She was taken to Macksville Police Station where she was charged with murder (domestic violence). Police will allege in court that the woman and the man knew each other.

She has been refused bail to appear in Port Macquarie District Court on Saturday.
