Bad news for fans and legends in the professional wrestling industry: former WWE And WCW superstar Sid Eudy passed away after a long battle with cancer on Monday. Known for his towering figure and fearsome presence in the ring, Eudy also headlined many major events for both WWE and WCW during the Monday Night Wars era. Also known as ‘Sycho Sid’ and ‘Sid Vicious’, Eudy was a former WWE and WCW World Champion in the 90s. Now, his fellow superstars and wrestlers have understandably paid emotional tributes and well wishes to the fallen superstar on various social media platforms.

The Nature Boy pays final tribute to Eudy
Among the many superstars who have said goodbye to him, Ric Flair was the most prominent, someone who wrestled with Sid in WCW and WWE. The two were also part of the famous ‘The Four Horsemen’ faction. ‘The Nature Boy’ wrote on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) that he was sad to hear of Sid’s passing and despite popular perception that they were not on good terms, he hugged Sid the last time he met him and called Ric a ‘Champ’. He sent well wishes to his beautiful family and made sure the world knew that he was not just a softball player, but most importantly a ‘Man’.

Lurch Sid remembers
Another superstar who honored Sid was Sting, who also faced Sid, in WCW. According to Sting, Sid was “one of the most credible big men ever” in the industry. He also said that he loved working with Sid and will miss him. Former WCW President Eric Bischoff also had some nice things to say about the departed superstar in ‘X’ and was quoted as saying, “So incredibly sad to hear that Sid Eudy has passed away. I have nothing but the fondest memories working with Sid. My thoughts are with his family, fans and friends. #MuchrespectSid”.

Current WWE RAW General Manager and former professional wrestler Adam Pearce also remembered Eudy fondly, writing on ‘X’ that he would forever cherish the good times spent with him. “Rest in peace Sid, I will forever cherish the good times. Driving the sheriff’s department from Tulsa to Enid at 100mph+ with lights/sirens blaring, only to arrive right after the show was over. Never a dull moment. Life’s too short. Godspeed.” Adam wrote with a ❤️ and 🙏 emoji.
