Yankees stars completely implode in disastrous World Series Game 5 inning

The fifth inning of Game 5 was a complete Yankees disaster.

They came in with a 5-0 lead, leaving the score tied and with their fans shocked in the stands of Yankee Stadium.

Enrique Hernandez led off the inning with a liner over second base for the Dodgers’ first hit of the game, before the Yankees did their best to cancel their flight back to Los Angeles.

Aaron Judge dropped a routine line drive to center Tommy Edman’s bat when he seemingly took his eye off the ball to give the Dodgers first and second without an out.

Next, Anthony Volpe tried to get a force out at third base on a grounder by Will Smith, but he hopped the throw to Jazz Chisholm, who couldn’t handle it.

After Gerrit Cole thrilled the home crowd with consecutive strikeouts of Gavin Lux and Shohei Ohtani, it was the ace’s turn for a fielding error.

Mookie Betts hit a slow grounder toward first base, but Cole strangely stopped halfway to first base, and Betts easily beat Anthony Rizzo to the bag to give the Dodgers their first run of the game.

Cole crumbled with Freddie Freeman – who else? – driving in two runs with a single to midfield.

Teoscar Hernandez then followed with a game-tying two-run double to the left-center gap over Judge’s head.

The Yankees had built the early lead thanks to home runs from Aaron Judge, Jazz Chisholm and Giancarlo Stanton.
