Since Taylor Sheridan’s pen unceremoniously murdered John Dutton Yellowstone, fans have been wondering where the series will go from here. On Sunday evening they got a taste of what’s to come. Honestly? The reviews are mixed.

Season 5, episode 10 continues the Dutton family saga post-mortem. Three of John’s children have to deal with the consequences, but the mutual understanding is not good. Jamie mourns the loss of his father, for which he is partly responsible. Beth wants Jamie to die. And their little brother Kayce just got the keys to the castle. Instead of jumping straight into the action, episode 10 takes us back in time with a scene of Rip and Teeter arguing with rattlesnakes, which is… an interesting choice when the stakes are so high! Later, the episode teased the idea of ​​Rip becoming the next head of the ranch. He has no interest in leaving Montana – and Kayce has no interest in running the company – so it’s certainly possible. But will it happen? We’ll have to wait and see.

As always, fans flocked to X to post the latest news Yellowstone episode. They don’t seem very excited about the show’s direction lately, but hey, there’s still a lot of Beth Dutton praise out there anyway. Hopefully, by the end of the season, we’ll see her avenge her father’s death in some way.
