YFN-Lucci became the target of a wild social media rumor on Wednesday claiming he had been murdered in prison. However, TMZ spoke to Lucci’s attorney, Drew Findlingwho confirmed that his client is alive and doing well.

The rumor appeared to reference the recent passing of Rich Homie Quan, a former labelmate of YFN Lucci, and quickly gained traction as fans shared the unconfirmed news from unreliable sources.

Lucci is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to a charge under the Street Gang and Terrorism Prevention Act, but his legal team is currently working to secure his early release.

In July, the Fulton County District Attorney filed a letter with the Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles supporting Lucci’s early release. Findling explained that the move bolsters their efforts and described the letter as a key part of their argument for his release.

Although they are pushing for immediate release, Lucci could be free as early as January 2025.
