Walz visits Arizona on Tuesday, the same day that Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump hold their first presidential debate.

Walz will fly into Sky Harbor International Airport on Tuesday morning and participate in “political engagements” in Phoenix. Later in the day, he will speak at a political event, the Harris-Walz campaign said.

“During his visit, Governor Walz will emphasize how Vice President Harris is charting a new path forward that protects our fundamental freedoms, strengthens our democracy, and ensures that everyone has the opportunity to not just survive, but thrive,” the Harris campaign said in a written statement. “And he will contrast Donald Trump and J.D. Vance’s dark and dangerous Project 2025 agenda that drives up costs for families and attacks our rights and freedoms.”
