Taylor Swift is here!

The “Fortnight” singer arrived at the MTV Video Music Awards at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York on September 11.

She wore a yellow and black checked outfit with leather accessories as she walked the red carpet.

She is competing for 12 prizes, but is not scheduled to perform.

Swift is nominated for the following awards at the 2024 MTV VMAs:

1. Video of the Year (for “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone)
2. Artist of the year
3. Song of the Year (for “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone),
4. Best Collaboration (for “Fortnight” with Post Malone)
5. Best doll
6. Best Director (Swift directed “Fortnight” starring Post Malone)
7. Song of the Summer (for “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone)
8. Most Iconic VMA Performance (for her previous performance of “You Belong With Me”)
9. Best Cinematography (for “Fortnight” with cinematography by Rodrigo Prieto)
10. Best Editing (for “Fortnight” with editing by Chancler Haynes)
11. Best Visual Effects (for “Fortnight” with Parliament Visual Effects)
12. Best Art Direction (for “Fortnight” with art direction by Ethan Tobman)

Swift won nine VMAs last year, bringing her total to 23 awards. For the 2024 ceremony, Swift is trailing only Beyoncé, who has 30 moonmen statuettes, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.

This year, Beyoncé is nominated for three awards: Song of the Year and Best Trending Video for her hit “Texas Hold ‘Em” and Most Iconic Performance for “Love On Top.”

If Swift were to appear at the VMAs, it would give her an additional platform to emphasize her political support for Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign.

Swift endorsed the current vice president after the first debate between Harris and Donald Trump on September 10. In a post, she wrote that she had made her decision.

“I think (Harris) is a steadfast, talented leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos,” she wrote in the caption of a photo of her and her cat, Benjamin, signing the photo with her name and her self-proclaimed title: “Childless Cat Lady.”

Fans of the pop star are also hoping Swift will use the night to announce “Reputation (Taylor’s Version).”

It wouldn’t be the first time Swift has used an awards ceremony to unveil and promote an upcoming album. Earlier this year, she announced “The Tortured Poets Department” at the Grammy Awards after winning Best Pop Album.

Swift also announced her album “Midnights” at the 2022 MTV VMAs, while accepting the award for video of the year for “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version).”

Swift is currently on hiatus from her “Eras Tour” and was spotted in New York City this past weekend at the US Open with her boyfriend Travis Kelce. She also attended the Chiefs-Ravens match at Arrowhead Stadium on Sept. 5.
