Lip readers, assemble! During the 2024 VMAs, cameras captured Taylor Swift’s reaction to Video Vanguard Award winner Katy Perry’s acceptance speech, and her reaction to one line in particular is particularly intriguing.

In her speech, Perry, Swift’s friend-turned-never-arch-enemy-turned-friend-again, thanked the LGBTQ community for teaching her that it was possible to be both “nice and c-nt.” Swift clapped throughout (if there’s one thing Swift will do at an awards show, it’s stand up and c-t) and then turned to her regular producer Jack Antonoff, who had apparently heard what he was saying to his other seatmate. He then pointed directly at her. Did Jack Antonoff call Taylor Swift both nice and c-nt? It sure seems like it. Watch the video here.

Swifties were on high alert, waiting to see how the superstar would react to the night’s events. Perhaps they were hoping for a return from Drunk Taylor, who was one of the best actors at last year’s VMAs.
