Former Greater Cincinnati school instructor accused of having sex with a student

CINCINNATI (WKRC) – A former St. Xavier teacher is accused of having sex with a student and then continuing to text the student as he tried to end the relationship.

Emily Nutley was charged Monday with six sex crimes. Nutley was a supervisor of a program to help struggling students with academics. Her accuser was assigned to the program.

Last November, Nutley began having a physical relationship with the alleged victim, who was 17 at the time. Hamilton County Prosecutor Melissa Powers said Nutley performed oral sex on the teen both on and off campus. She also allegedly had sex with him in her office after school.

Powers said Nutley continued to text the teen after he tried to end the relationship.

Powers said in a statement: “Hamilton County Prosecutor Melissa Powers noted, “This is absolutely unacceptable and reprehensible behavior by an adult toward a minor child. This child needed help and guidance, but instead found an adult who wanted to recreate her perverted behavior. sexual desires. I would like to thank the Springfield Township Police Department and St. Xavier High School for their thorough investigation into this case. Let me be very clear: this is child sexual abuse. This child was the victim of an adult predator who should never do this again. She has a role that brings her into contact with children. She used this child for her own sexual gratification while abusing the position she held.”

If convicted, Nutley faces up to 15 years in prison and could be required to register as a sex offender.
