Our warm front passed through the area today and gave our temperatures a nice boost this afternoon with some sun. But the real warm airflow will take place here on Thursday and Friday.

With the heat comes the wind, which is not good news for the ongoing fire battles across the state. Winds will increase on Thursday and become quite gusty on Friday. The winds will calm down a bit this weekend as temperatures drop back into the 50s. Don’t forget, this weekend is the dreaded time change! Saturday night we gain an hour of sleep, but the prize is sunset at 4:30 PM.

The Halloween forecast is near record territory. The record is 81° and many of us will be very close. If it’s not THE warmest, it will probably be the second warmest Halloween ever. So no parkas to cover up those costumes this year! Which is of course not out of the question, it is New England after all! Just four years ago, the other side of the coin was when we picked up 4 inches of snow on today’s date in 2020, making for the snowiest October day on record for the city of Boston!

This Halloween is the exact opposite as we challenge record highs.
