Among the Los Angeles Dodgers group of free agents is Kiké Hernández, who is in a second stint with the team and looking to build on the success of winning the 2024 World Series.

Hernández struggled throughout the year, but delivered success again when the lights were brightest in October. He played in 14 of the Dodgers’ 16 postseason games, hitting .294/.357/.451 with two home runs, six RBI and 11 runs scored.

After spending the last four years helping bring home a second World Series championship and catering to Dodgers fans in attendance at a local Raising Cane’s, Hernández took advantage of their good graces by asking for help in re-signing.

“I really, really hope I’ll be back next year so we can turn it back around. So make sure you guys talk to Friedman and those guys and let them know,” Hernández told the crowd.

As a group, the 2024 Dodgers showed a ton of heart in October and continued to demonstrate why manager Dave Roberts believed in this team more than any other team he has managed.

“It took all of us in that dressing room to do what we achieved. That doesn’t happen without the device. That’s the one thing that stands out the most about our run in October, is how close we were,” Hernández said.

“It brings back memories of 2020. That’s why we did it in 2020, but in 2020 we were all locked up in a hotel for a month. To be together like this this year for a whole month when everyone can go home after a competition, you can only hope that you can bring the whole group back and participate again next year.

“I know there will be a lot of moving pieces, but all a man can do is hope.”

In addition to Hernández, the Dodgers’ full list of free agents also includes Walker Buehler, Jack Flaherty, Teoscar Hernández, Joe Kelly, Clayton Kershaw and Blake Treinen.

Daniel Hudson and Kevin Kiermaier were also technically part of that group, but both retired after the Dodgers won the World Series.
