Boston Bruins vs. Ottawa Senators

Are the Boston Bruins starting to turn a corner? After starting the month of November in last place in the Atlantic Division, they have won three of their first four games of the month, including Thursday night’s 4-3 victory over the Calgary Flames.

Now they get another test on Saturday night when the Ottawa Senators visit the TD Garden and that means former goaltender Linus Ullmark will visit with his new team. He was traded in June for a 2024 first-round draft pick, forward Mark Kastelic and goaltender Joonas Korpisalo. It will be the first meeting between friends Jeremy Swayman and Ullmark. It will be an emotional evening on so many levels.

Last game

As mentioned above, the Black and Gold come into the game having defeated the Flames in overtime. It was another home game where they blew a two-goal lead in the third period, but just like against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Brad Marchand scored the game winner in the extra session.

Ottawa comes home after a 4-2 loss to the New York Islanders on Thursday evening. The Senators come to town losing five of their six games so far this season and will look to keep pace with the Bruins in the division race.

Boston Bruins vs. Ottawa Senators: History

It is the first of four meetings between the two teams this season. However, fans will have to wait two months for the next game as the two teams won’t play until January 18 in Ottawa and five days later at the TD Garden on January 23. The final match will be in Ottawa on March 13. .

Boston Bruins vs. Ottawa Senators: Players to watch

It’s been a struggle for David Pastrnak this season, with just six goals scored so far. He got an assist on goals from Pavel Zacha and Hampus Lindholm against Calgary, but struggled to score his own goal. Swayman gets the start and he will have to put aside the emotions of playing against Ullmark to help his team get a win.

For Ottawa, Ullmark has struggled a bit so far this season and the Bruins are hoping that continues for at least one more night. Tim Stützle leads the Senators in points with 19 in 13 games with six goals and 13 assists. The Bruins have struggled to stay out of the box and that would be wise considering the Sens have the NHL’s fourth-ranked power play in play as of Friday night.
