The colorful, cube-shaped world of Minecraft comes to life.

The first teaser trailer for “A Minecraft Movie,” the upcoming live-action adaptation of the hit film, has been revealed. The film stars Jason Momoa, Danielle Brooks and Jack Black.

In the trailer, Momoa — sporting a seriously wild shoulder-length wig with choppy bangs — enters the pixelated Minecraft world with Brooks, “Wednesday” star Emma Myers and Sebastian Eugene Hansen.

As they embark on a magical adventure, they encounter various Minecraft characters such as bah-ing bleats, angry piglins, and a random guy named Steve (Black).

“Anything you can dream here, you can create here,” Black says in the clip, as The Beatles’ “The Magical Mystery Tour” plays in the background.

Momoa’s character Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison and his three other misfits “struggle with everyday problems when they’re suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination,” according to an official synopsis for the film.

To get home, their adventure challenges them to “be brave and reconnect with the qualities that make them each creative in their own unique way… the skills they need to thrive again in the real world.”

From Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, “A Minecraft Movie” is directed by Jared Hess, whose previous work includes “Napoleon Dynamite” and “Masterminds.” It’s the first-ever live-action adaptation of the popular video game, which debuted in 2011. The video game Minecraft allows users to explore and create unique worlds, building anything they want using virtual three-dimensional blocks.

“A Minecraft Movie” is set to premiere in theaters on April 4, 2025.
