Morocco head coach Walid Regragui has warned his side not to get too comfortable in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Lesotho at the Honneur Stadium on Monday evening.

Kick-off is at 21:00 CAT (SA, GMT+2)

CURRENT FORM

The Atlas Lions have won all their qualifying matches despite already being guaranteed a place in the next tournament since they will host.

In their last match they emphatically defeated Gabon 5-1 and the Moroccans currently sit top of Group B with a 15-point lead.

The last time the team faced Lesotho in September, they defeated them 1-0 at the Adrar Stadium in their country’s Souss-Massa region.

For Likuena, the country’s chances of qualifying for the next Afcon are quite slim, but they will definitely be playing for pride in this competition.

WHAT WAS SAID

Morocco head coach Walid Regragui has been impressed with the way his players handled the qualifiers but is not boasting about their perfect record so far.

“We won by five goals (against Gabon) and managed to correct several aspects of our game,” he said.

“We were solid both defensively and offensively. This achievement reflects our progress, but we know there is still much work to be done.”

The coach also showed his commitment to ensuring the team continues their impressive form and plays a part in their growth.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Youssef En-Nesyri, Morocco – The striker who plies his trade for Turkish Super League club Fenerbahce scored in the team’s 5-1 win over Gabon and will pose a threat to Likuena’s defense if he is on form.

Neo Mokhachane, Lesotho – The 28-year-old Jwaneng Galaxy midfielder was on target in Likuena’s match against Central African Republic and will be hoping to show what he can do against a strong Atlas Lions side.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

The two countries have only met once, and that was their September appearance in the Afcon qualifiers in Morocco. The Atlas Lions won the match 1-0, meaning they have a perfect record against Likuena.
