“NBA is rigged”: OKC fans scream as Jalen Williams’ injury update is visibly shaken mid-game vs. Warriors

Will things work out for Jalen Williams? That question may have occurred to those in attendance at the Chase Center after what happened in the first half. We have seen more injuries this season than ever before. The OKC Thunder found themselves in the worst situation a team could get, with not one, but SEVEN of their players listed on the report card for the recent Warriors game. Therefore, the last thing the team and its fans wanted to see was someone else biting the dust. Look…

During the second quarter of the Warriors-OKC game, Jalen Williams suffered an eye injury. This happened after Jonathan Kuminga attempted a dunk and accidentally hit the OKC star in the face. JK’s face also came into contact with Williams’ hand, but the Bay Area player was unharmed. Meanwhile, the OKC star remained on the ground as medical staff gathered around him.

Within a few seconds, the hoop star got up and left for the locker room. In the absence of an official update, it is difficult to determine the severity of the injury. Despite this, NBA enthusiasts are wasting no time in sharing their reactions. After all, injuries after injuries in games are something that no sports fan wants.

Fans can’t believe their eyes after Jalen Williams’ sudden injury: “This is ridiculous”

One social media user emphasized that he wasn’t angry about Jalen Williams’ injury, but about the league as a whole. This is said to have prompted him to write: “If Jalen Williams doesn’t come back, nothing will change my mind that the NBA is rigged.” Yes!

All you have to do is check out the NBA injury status section on ESPN to know the long, LONG list of players suffering from ailments. In light of this, it wouldn’t be surprising for fans to assume something wrong is going on. However, there is no evidence whatsoever to prove the authenticity of ‘falsified’ claims.

One fan complained about the apparent silence, saying: ‘Will we get another update? This is ridiculous.”

Underdog NBA’s official X account confirmed that Jalen Williams will not return for the remaining minutes. According to reporters, he did not come out with the rest of the team at halftime. The team is working on the player and is not releasing any further details about the type of injury he suffered.

Another social media user used the update to highlight how the Warriors have somehow emerged as a major bane for OKC. He did this by writing “Warriors eliminated Chet and JDub in back-to-back games”accompanied by a melting face emoji.

It was only 2-3 weeks ago when the Warriors and OKC played their first regular season game of this edition. Also during the first quarter of that game, OKC was dealt a major blow when Chet Holmgren left the game after suffering a painful fall in the lane. Later reports indicated that he had suffered a fracture of the right iliac wing. He has now been absent for eight games in a row, further worsening OKC’s already dire situation.

A social media user revealed: “Oklahoma City has really struggled since Jalen Williams’ injury, on both ends.” OKC struggled to score after Williams’ early departure. The Thunder team had a 39-23 lead in the first quarter, but the Warriors were catching up. Slow and steady. Even with Jalen Williams out, OKC still had Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The talismanic point guard made good use of his 39 minutes, dropping 35 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists.

SGA also got help from the Isaiahs (Isaiah Joe and Isaiah Hartenstein) as they scored 17 and 14 points respectively. Before his departure, Jalen Williams had made a memorable contribution of his own, dropping 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists in 16 minutes.

All of this helped OKC secure the win! Also close, as the score was only 105-101 at the end of the match.

One person took a shot at the Warriors, writing: “The dirtiest team in the NBA, 10 years in a row. The franchise should be banned from the competition.”

There may have been some personal bias here, as evidenced by several NBA fans. However, there is no denying that the Warriors team experiences its fair share of physical incidents. Draymond Green has certainly built a reputation for his trash talk and physicality on the field. However, the injuries have not spared the Warriors themselves. We’ve seen the same thing now, with De’Anthony Melton sidelined. Therefore, calling for a ban outright could push things a bit to the extreme.

Overall, the reactions showed hostility toward the Warriors, the league, and a little bit of OKC as well. The Thunder survived to fight another day. However, the longer Jalen Williams remains absent, the slimmer their chances of success will remain.
