LANSING, MI — A Mega Millions player from Michigan won a $1 million prize during the Tuesday, Sept. 3 drawing. The winner matched all five white numbers drawn (12-41-43-52-55) and took home the prize.

The ticket was sold at the Y&K Party Store, located at 5658 S Division Ave, Kentwood.

The winner now has one year to contact the Michigan Lottery Player Relations department at 1-844-917-6325 to schedule an appointment to claim the prize. Although that player won a $1 million prize, there was no winner of the $681 million jackpot, meaning the drawing on Friday, Sept. 6 will be worth $740 million.

The last Michigan player to win a Mega Millions or Powerball jackpot was the Breakfast Club lottery club, which claimed an $842 million jackpot in June 2024. Members plan to use the money to buy a home in Florida and travel.

And while they were lucky winners, players would be wise to check their tickets right away, as a $1 million Mega Millions winner sold in Southfield in 2023 went unclaimed. The money instead went to the state’s School Aid Fund.
