49ers star ejected for PUNCHING Chiefs player in astonishing blowout

San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Trent Williams was ejected from his team’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs for hitting opponent Bryan Cook in the head with a hard blow after a play ended.

It had been a frustrating afternoon for the 49ers in a rematch of this year’s Super Bowl, with San Francisco’s offense sputtering against the Chiefs with just one touchdown on the day before the game’s closing moments.

On a play with just over two minutes left, a downed Williams was hit in the head by Chiefs safety Bryan Cook. Williams stood up and delivered a much more barbaric blow to a chef in a helmet.

Williams was called for an unnecessary roughness penalty on the play before being sent off.

Fox stated on its broadcast that Williams initially refused to leave the field because Cook was not also thrown out of the championship rematch.

As in many previous incidents in the NFL, it was the player who retaliated, and not the player who instigated it, received the harsher punishment.

After hitting Cook, Chief’s linebacker got into Williams’ face and the two exchanged harsh words, but no punches.

The Chiefs defeated the 49ers 28-18 to remain the NFL’s only undefeated team to start the season 6-0.

The 49ers fell to 3-4 after Brock Purdy’s three interceptions.

Four losses through the first seven weeks of the NFL season are a disappointment for one of the favorites in the NFC.

The Chiefs still haven’t lost a game since Christmas Day.
