As the Strategist’s style writer, it’s my duty to find the best fashion deals when Black Friday approaches. After covering Cyber Week for the past few years, I know what’s worth buying, what’s worth spending on, and what’s better to ignore. (For example, I don’t think any deal with less than 20 percent off should be added to your cart.) You should start shopping at department stores first — Nordstrom’s Black Friday sale was good enough for us to write an entire guide to it. dedicate . It’s also a good time to get cashmere on sale — although J.Crew may not be discounting its cashmere like stores like Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s do. This also applies to boots: Dr. Martens is discounted at Amazon and Zappos. Some of the best deals I’ve seen this year have come from Net-a-Porter’s clearance section, with discounts on designer items that are better than what you’d see elsewhere (sorry, Ssense!). Places like Everlane are doing sitewide deals that you don’t see every day — so now’s the time to stock up on cheap T-shirts and turtlenecks. I made sure that only the best Black Friday fashion deals below. You can also check out our full guide to the best Black Friday sales (according to our deals editor) and sign up for our newsletter to ensure you don’t miss anything during Cyber Monday.

On the hunt for the best Black Friday fashion deals, I’ve found everything from Baggu bags at Ban.do to Repettos on sale at Ssense. But one of the best items I’ve seen is a pair of Free People shorts at Nordstrom, which are currently going for $14 (and you never see something on sale for $14 at Free People). Another notable deal is these Under $20 Old Navy Sweatpants. They’re everything I look for in sweatpants: comfortable and cheap, and they have pockets. And while there’s a lot in Everlane’s sale that’s worth adding to your cart, I’ll be adding another Air Long-Sleeve T-shirt to mine. It’s one of my favorite long sleeve tees because it’s so layerable and lightweight (without being too thin).

Amazon’s Black Friday deals are similar to Prime Day prices. Consider it a rethink for everything you missed buying on the first (or second) go-around. Some of the best deals are on Levi’s jeans, which are currently cheaper on Amazon than on Levi’s own site. If I were you, I’d buy another pair of Wedgies or Ribcages as long as they’re cheap. (And here’s our full breakdown of Amazon’s Black Friday sale, too.)

If you’re a member of AnthroPerks (it’s free to sign up with an email address), you can first shop Anthropologie’s Black Friday deal: 30 percent off almost everything full price and an extra 40 percent off everything that is already on sale. Listen to the Anthropologie staff and pick up a pair of Colette pants or the Bennet Button-down (which are almost never discounted).

It’s been a while since I’ve seen a Banana Republic sale this Great. Banana Republic’s Black Friday deal includes 40 percent off your full-price purchase (unlike J.Crew, Banana Republic includes its cashmere on sale) and up to 50 percent off sale styles. The All Day Pant and Corduroy Barrel Pant are recent – and already well-worn – additions to my own closet.

Ban.do is a good place to shop – and then Actually shop when there is a sale. Get 35 percent off everything now with code THEBEST at checkout. I was quite taken with this swan-shaped Baggu bag (it’s a better deal at Ban.do than Baggu, which is normally only 20 percent off for Black Friday), plaid cashmere socks from Hansel of Basel, and ballet pink Le Bon Shoppe pants .

Big Bud Press’s form-fitting bottoms have developed a loyal following among Strategist staffers. For Black Friday, the brand is offering a 30 percent discount sitewide. Your best bet might be the Work Pants, which fit well and are just as well made as Dickies and Carhartt workwear.

As my editor Hilary Reid noted, the real bargains at Bloomingdale’s right now are on its own cashmere line, C by Bloomingdale’s — with sweaters starting at 40 percent off and going up to 60 percent off. Start there before browsing the rest of the site (you can get 25 percent off select full-price items as part of the department store’s Black Friday sale).

For something shiny, you can get 20 percent off almost everything at Catbird. If you feel like splurging on someone special (or yourself), this is the best deal you can get all year. Catbird’s ‘Tiniest Key’ charm is on actress Kat Dennings’ list of things she can’t live without, while these delightful little diamond studs also from Catbird and Collette Ishiyama’s tiny snake hoops are almost always in my ears.

You don’t often see Dôen get discounts of up to 65 percent, so you know what to do.

Everlane’s excellent Black Friday sale is in full swing with discounts of up to 50 percent off sitewide. The best deals are on some old Strategist favorites, including the ribbed turtleneck that’s described as “tight enough that it doesn’t bunch up under things, but not like Uniqlo Heattech tight” and the jeans strangers would stop our former Strategist editor on the street for.

In case you missed it, Gap is good again! The already cheap basic necessities are currently even cheaper: you can get everything on the site with a 40 to 60 percent discount. I think the jeans that were part of the search for the perfect dark wash jeans and our premium trench coat are a good place to start shopping. I’ve also heard good things about Gap’s CashSoft line.

I spend a small fortune at J.Crew every year on Black Friday. This year will be no exception, with up to 50 percent off almost everything at full price (prices already indicated) and an additional 50 percent off sale items with the code FRIDAY. (Note that J.Crew’s cashmere is excluded from the sale.) And for all it’s worth buying, I’d recommend a pair of Tissue Turtlenecks, the Ottessa Moshfegh pajama set (have it monogrammed as a gift) and a sweater from a “seaside scene from 1998.”

Impressive is one of the Black Friday sales that is our deals editor most is excited about by Lisa Say Gah’s. It’s the biggest sale the ‘Lolita on Lexapro’ store is doing all year, with 30 percent off everything. I’m thinking about getting these campy cow print pants or this ribbon dress for a party.

Macy’s is currently a goldmine of deals — including Charter Club cashmere for more than 60 percent off, Khaite-esque Steve Madden boots for under $100, and a Calvin Klein bra (one of our favorite bras) for almost half off .

Madewell essentials have been recommended to us so many times that we have an entire guide to shopping at Madewell. And the Black Friday event – 40 percent off almost everything with code MADEBETTER – is always highly anticipated in our Strategist circle. There’s a long list of things worth buying, including the wide-leg jeans that a stylist recommended to more than 150 clients and the work bag we first heard about in 2018. (I’m sorry to note that the Alexa Chung collaboration is not included in the sale.)

I’d say Net-a-Porter’s Black Friday sale is the best of the designer lot of Black Friday sales. The discounts – up to 50 percent – are deep from the start (the longer you wait, the better some get, but stock always moves quickly). My advice: the sooner you shop, the better.

There’s a reason why one of our most-read stories before Black Friday is our full look at Nordstrom’s clearance sale, with the department store offering up to 60 percent off the clearance section. The department store compares the price of many of the discounts to what brands (like Madewell) offer on their own sites, if you fancy a one-time settlement. Some highlights on sale right now: $14 Free People flannel shorts and Natori Feathers, aka the unicorn of underwear, for 40 percent off.

Old Navy’s early Black Friday deals start at $5, with sweatpants starting at $12 and sweatshirts starting at $19. It’s your chance to stock up on the basics, from my favorite cheerful cherry red sweatpants to the only long sleeve T-shirt sleeves, fellow writer Emma Wartzman, who has been wrapped up in coastal Maine for a week.

It’s not often that Rothy’s has a sale, let alone the entire site. Everything is marked down by up to 30 percent, so you can see how comfortable a pair of Rothy’s are Real Are. I would recommend getting Square Mary Janes freelancer Erika Veurink who walked 15,000 steps around Florence and the Casual Clogs which can be for outdoors or indoors (we happen to think they are one of the best slippers out there, for the good order).

There are only a few times a year that Shopbop offers a percentage off storewide. (Like Sephora, it often offers discounts depending on different membership levels.) You can use the code HOLIDAY for 25 percent off almost everything during Cyber Week. I shopped around and found the corduroy pants that Count Count‘s Laurel Pantin has on her wish list a Reformation training dress that can replace your old Outdoor Voices dress, and a striped fleece zip-up from Great Outdoors for outdoorsmen.

During Ssense’s Winter Sale, you’ll find designer items at Woodbury Commons prices, including sunglasses from Loewe and a plaid scarf from Acne Studio (no, not That An). A big highlight of the sale is all the Repetto ballerinas that are marked down; the sizes are sold out, so be quick. (Make sure you also check out our full breakdown of Ssense’s Black Friday sale.)

If you have a UO Rewards membership (it’s free to sign up), you can get 40 percent off almost everything at Urban Outfitters for Black Friday, including the sale portion. (Notably, Baggu and Birkenstock stocks are excluded from the promotion.) Buy all your indie sleaze paraphernalia while the going is good.

During Zappos’ Black Friday sale, you can get up to 60 percent off brands like Crocs and Dr. Martens. Surprisingly, there are a lot of markdowns on Tory Burch, and I found a few pairs of Mephistos (often seen in our Secret strategist newsletter) also for sale.
