Aaron Rodgers slams ‘ridiculous’ referees over Jets penalty fiasco

Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers criticized the officials after Monday’s 23-20 loss to the Bills.

There were 22 penalties in the match, 11 for each team, and some decisions looked questionable. The Jets were flagged eleven times for 110 yards.

“It seemed a little ridiculous,” Rodgers said.

Rodgers even criticized a penalty that favored the Jets when Bills edge rusher AJ Epenesa was called for unnecessary roughness on a sack of Rodgers that gave the Jets a first down. Later, Jets defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw was called for roughing the passer.

“Some of it seemed really bad, including harassing the passerby,” Rodgers said before making a “South Park” reference. ‘That’s not bothering the passer-by. We might as well be playing Sarcastaball if we’re going to call those things. I also thought the one about Kinlaw didn’t bother the passerby.’

Rodgers could face a fine from the league for his criticism of the referees.

There was a potential breakthrough on the Haason Reddick front on Monday.

The disgruntled Jets edge rusher hired new agents, Drew Rosenhaus and Ryan Matha, after being fired by his previous agents last week.

Rosenhaus planned to attend the game between the Jets and Bills on Monday night and speak with Jets general manager Joe Douglas about finding a way to end the delay.

Reddick had requested a trade in August, but it now appears to have been rescinded.

“We are focused on a resolution with the Jets,” Rosenhaus said in a text message.

The Jets acquired Reddick in a trade with the Eagles in March, but he stayed away from all spring activities and the team’s training camp.

Monday’s game was the sixth he missed. He has received approximately $10 million in fines. Reddick was set to make $14.25 million this season.

The Jets suffered two injuries in their secondary during the game.

CB DJ Reed, who has had a fantastic season, injured his groin in the third quarter and did not return to the game.

Safety Chuck Clark left the game in the first quarter with an ankle injury and was unable to return.

The Jets had a wide receiver (Garrett Wilson) with over 100 receiving yards and a running back (Breece Hall) with over 100 rushing yards for the first time since Week 5 of the 2018 season against the Broncos. did it.
