Al Michaels made a great call in the fourth quarter Thursday night footballwhich provides a quick – and ultimately correct – analysis of a touchdown play before the official review was completed.

Early in the fourth, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson hit wide receiver Tylan Wallace on a short sideline pattern. Wallace evaded three Cincinnati Bengals defenders and zipped down the sideline for an 84-yard touchdown.

The immediate question: had Wallace overstepped the mark? As the officials reviewed the play, the Prime Video production crew provided a great replay angle of Wallace walking inches from the sideline.

“Here you can see whether he stayed within bounds,” said analyst Kirk Herbstreit.

At one point, Wallace’s right foot appeared to go out of bounds.

“Oh, look at that! The right foot!” Michaels said.

“Oh, they’ll look into that,” Herbstreit said.

“It almost looked like the toe was in, the heel was up,” Michaels was quick to point out.

That wasn’t an easy decision after a quick look at the replay, but Michaels pulled it off. Officials confirmed the touchdown and Jackson had the longest TD pass of his career.

The broadcast revisited the play, allowing Herbstreit to explain how Wallace set up the touchdown.
