Regarding UFC championship fights, Sean O’Malley in return for Merab Dvalishvili bee UFC-306 is one of the most intriguing in recent history.

Bantamweight champion O’Malley is perhaps one of the most dangerous and accurate strikers in UFC history, and Dvalishvili is perhaps the most relentless. Dvalishvili, who has rightly earned the nickname “The Machine,” has set a record pace in his run to the title, attempting 49 takedowns against Petr Yan alone.

On the other hand, ‘Suga’ has stood out from the crowd, most recently dominating Marlon Vera in a five-round beatdown at UFC 299 in March. The 29-year-old Arizonan has been severely underrated on his path to gold, and many believe Dvalishvili is one of the toughest contenders despite his 90% decision percentage in the UFC.

Former featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski shares this opinion and made his official prediction for the match on September 11 on YouTube.

“I don’t care how good your footwork is, you’re not going to keep Merab away unless you put his lights out,” Volkanovski explained. “… Merab’s going to get the takedown eventually, I don’t care how. … The only way I see him losing is if he gets knocked out. … I’m going for Merab.”
