Indian spinner Ravi Bishnoi was very complimentary about T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav and vice-captain Shubman Gill for their support. Bishnoi put up a great show in the second T20I against Sri Lanka.

After his three-wicket haul, Bishnoi spoke about how Surya and Gill had a big impact on his performance. “Suryakumar is doing a great job as a captain. I played under him during the Australia series as well. He was good. Shubman Gill’s captaincy was also great. In Zimbabwe we did a great job as a captain too. They always support me and as a bowler you can’t ask for more than that,” he said at the press conference, according to India Today.

Speaking further, Ravi Bishnoi spoke about his bond with newly appointed India head coach Gautam Gambhir. “I share a great bond with Gautam Gambhir as he has been with LSG for two years,” Bishnoi said.

The spinner added: “He didn’t ask me to change anything. He told me to do what I’m doing now. His advice was useful to me before and it’s useful to me now.”

Ravi Bishnoi took figures of 3/26 in his four-over spell against Sri Lanka in the second T20I. The stunning performance by the Indian spinner also earned him the Player of the Match award. With India bowling first, Bishnoi played a major role in taking the first wicket for his team.

He completed a comfortable catch in the fourth over to dismiss Kusal Mendis. Bishnoi sent Pathum Nissanka back to the dressing room in the 10th over for an lbw. His impressive catch proved crucial as India won the match by seven wickets, ending the series with an unassailable 2-0 lead.

Ravi Bishnoi also played a key role in their T20I opener on July 27. In that match, the Indian spinner took figures of 1/37 in four overs. Sri Lankan skipper Charith Asalanka was his only finisher. Bishnoi will now be looking for a similar performance in the final T20I played today, July 30.
