While many LSU fans were in Tiger Stadium or watching the Tigers’ game against Nicholls State from elsewhere, (autotag)Angel Reese(/autotag) had big news.

Reese took to her social media to announce that she will be out for the remainder of the 2024 season due to a wrist injury. The injury occurred during (autotag)Chicago Sky’s(/autotag) 92-78 win over the Los Angeles Sparks on Friday.

The 2024 Rookie of the Year candidate was having a great season before the injury, having played in 34 games and started 34 times. She was averaging a double-double, with an average of 13.6 points per game and 13.1 rebounds per game.

The Sky are currently 12-22 and fighting for the No. 8 seed in the WNBA Playoffs. They hold the tiebreaker over the Sparks and are hanging on by a thread for the final playoff spot. Our thoughts and prayers are with Reese as we hope she has a speedy recovery and comes back stronger than ever.
