AUS vs PAK: Rain delays at Gabba as 1st T20I faces washout threat | cricket.one

The first T20I between Australia and Pakistan was marred by a setback. The toss at The Gabba has been postponed due to rain and looking at the weather forecast for this match, conditions in Brisbane are not too promising.

In the latest updateThe ground is under the covers and there are no significant signs of the covers coming loose. The toss has been postponed by 15 minutes. A severe storm is forecast and according to live updates from Crex, members of the public at the venue have been advised not to sit on the ground in open areas.

Rain takes over at Gabba

Meanwhile, after celebrating Australia’s whitewash with a historic ODI series victory, Pakistan are focusing on a three-T20I series against Australia, starting at this venue. Injuries once again caused some shuffling for both teams: rest for key players after the ODI series.

For Pakistan, some new faces through pacer Jahandad Khan and Mohammad Abbas Afridi, while for Australia, skipper Josh Inglis joins the squad in the absence of Mitchell Marsh, Nathan Ellis and Tim David.
