NEW YORK – The cast of “Blue Bloods” joined the families of fallen NYPD officers for a special lighting ceremony at the Empire State Building, CBS New York reports this.

The Oct. 18 event, held in partnership with CBS Studios and the DEA Widows’ and Children’s Fund, honored officers who died in the line of duty, the report said.

“Having the support of the families of the men and women who put themselves on the line every day means more than anything,” said actor Donnie Wahlberg.

Stephanie Diller, wife of the murdered NYPD Detective Jonathan Dillerattended the ceremony with her 21-month-old son, Ryan, who received a high-five from “Blue Bloods” star Tom Selleck.

“We’re happy to be here to support them and thank them for supporting us,” Diller said.
