Linebacker Neil Daily will make his first start for MSU this afternoon…




BOZEMAN, Montana – Montana State’s lineup rotation continues today in Portland with the loss of a few key contributors.

Linebacker Bryce Grebewho was due to start after Danny Uliulakepa’s injury last week, will miss today’s match. Neil daily begin in its place, with Ryan Krahe in support of both the Will and Mike positions. When walking back, Adam Jones will miss today’s match due to injury. Jared White moves behind Scottre Humphrey on the depth map. Julius Davisthe returning starter at running back, traveled this week and his availability will be determined at game time.

Bobcat coach Brent Vigen is on the verge of a milestone. With a win in either of MSU’s next two games, Vigen becomes the first Big Sky Conference football coach to win at least 40 games in his first 50 games. By beating Idaho by his 39e After winning last week, he moved from tying with UM’s Bobby Hauck and Tony Knapp of Boise State to tying with UM’s Mick Dennehy at age 38.

Vigen is one win away from tying with Mike Kramer in 4e place on MSU’s all-time wins list. His 26 home wins are 3rd in Bobcat history in that category.

Bobcat quarterback Tommy Mellott also climbs a significant list of wins. His 25 wins as Montana State’s starting quarterback are tied for third-most along with Bobcat legend Travis Lulay, who is expected to be at today’s game. His next win moves him into a tie for second place with Paul Dennehy, a Butte product like Mellott. DeNarius McGhee’s 30 wins are the school’s all-time record.

Today’s game marks Montana State’s third trip to Hillsboro Stadium. The Cats defeated PSU 30-17 in 2021 and 43-23 in 2018.
