Boo Buckets return to McDonald’s Happy Meals today

McDonald’s Happy Meals comes with an extra bit of Halloween fun this year, with the return of Boo Buckets for a limited time starting Tuesday, October 15.

A customer favorite, the Monster Boo Buckets come with Happy Meals and can be used for trick-or-treating. The buckets are available in a new color, blue, replacing last year’s purple color. Each bucket also comes with stickers so kids can customize the look.

McDonald’s first sold the decorated buckets in 1986, and they have since made regular appearances over the years as a special holiday treat.

How do I get a McDonald’s Boo bucket?

McDonald’s Monster Boo Buckets replace the classic Happy Meal box while supplies last.

Boo Bucket prices are determined by each individual restaurant and may vary depending on location, according to McDonald’s. Customers can order their favorite McDonald’s Happy Meal options: you can order them by placing a Happy Meal order in the restaurant or via the app.

Happy Meals come with three different entrees: hamburger (you can add cheese) and 4-piece or 6-piece Chicken McNuggets meals; each comes with a serving of fries or apple slices and a drink.

What colors will McDonald’s Boo Buckets come in this year?

McDonald’s is changing the color scheme for this year’s Boo Buckets. Just like in 2023, there will be white, orange and green buckets. But this year, blue buckets will replace last year’s purple buckets.

Last year’s Boo Buckets also resembled classic monsters, including Monster, Skeleton, Mummy and Vampire. This year’s models are more amorphous, allowing kids to customize them with attached stickers as they see fit.(This story has been updated with new information.)
