The 2024 MLS playoffs are here, following a dramatic end to the regular season that saw Lionel Messi and Inter Miami set a new points record and top the standings.

The postseason begins just three days after the end of the regular season, with CF Montréal and Atlanta United facing off in the wild-card round on Tuesday night. The Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps meet on Wednesday in a matchup of teams from the Pacific Northwest.

Miami will certainly be among the favorites, but they are far from alone. The Columbus Crew, the defending MLS Cup champions, defeated Messi and co. this year, as LAFC look to repeat their 2022 trophy lift. After a few poor seasons, the LA Galaxy are back among the contenders, while a consistently high-flying FC Cincinnati will look to prove they can perform in the knockout competition.

Here’s what you need to know about the full MLS playoff bracket, schedule and how to watch the entire MLS Cup:

MLS Playoff Bracket

Nine teams from each conference have qualified for the 2024 MLS Playoffs. The structure includes a single-elimination wildcard round beginning on Tuesday, October 22, followed by the best-of-three Round 1 beginning on Friday, October 25 October – with Lionel Messi and Inter Miami in action.

From there, the single-game format returns for the conference semifinals, conference finals and MLS Cup (with the higher seed in all three rounds).

MLS Playoffs – Wild Card Round

  • CF Montreal vs. Atlanta United
  • Portland Timbers vs. Vancouver Whitecaps

Note: The No. 8 seed Vancouver Whitecaps have given up home field advantage for the wild card round due to a conflict over stadium availability. As a result, the No. 9 seed Portland Timbers will host the Western Conference wild-card game.

How to watch the MLS Playoffs

Every match of the 2024 MLS Playoffs will be streamed on Apple TV.

Select games, including the MLS Cup, will be broadcast on Fox and FS1 and streamed via Fubo. In addition, matches involving Canadian clubs are broadcast in Canada by TSN (English) and RDS (French).
