BYU Football Game Week — at Wyoming – BYU Athletics – Official Athletics Website

Opening Statement

“New week. We’re super excited to be 2-0 in week three. After watching the film, I’m really proud of the team. Like I said after the game, there’s still a lot of room for improvement, so we’re looking forward to getting started on that today.”

About Wyoming

“We’re looking forward to this game with Wyoming on the road this week. Given the history of this rivalry, I know they have a passionate fan base that loves the team, and I know they’re looking forward to this game as well. They’re a very well-coached team with tough guys and a great culture.”

“We try to do things the right way and always respect our opponent. Every week is a different week, you never know what’s going to happen, but that’s the game of football. This is an old rival of ours, so I know there’s a lot of fans out there that want Wyoming to win, so we’re going to go out there and perform better than we have. We still haven’t played our best football and I don’t think our identity has come through in all three phases, so this is a good week to show that.”

About running back Enoch Nawahine

“Enoch did a great job with his vision and ability to run the ball. For a guy who didn’t get that many reps in practice to be able to perform at a high level is great and he made some really big plays for us. Both him and Miles Davis did a great job, so we know we can count on those guys.”

On the attack line

“We’d like to see things be a little more explosive than they are right now, but we know we’re not short on talent. We’ve got a lot of talent and skill, and this week is a good opportunity for some of our young guys to make some big plays. The O-line is doing a great job, so I’d like to take better advantage of that.”

Safety on the ball

“It all comes down to taking care of the ball. I don’t want guys to have to play tight and not take chances, but we have to protect the ball better. The ball doesn’t just belong to one person. It belongs to the fans, the team and the program, so guys have to think about it more that way. Our offense has to take care of the ball.”
